First popping up in China thousands of years ago, garlic isnow widely used around the world and a household staple. The most common varieties of garlic contain 10 cloves with white skin. Other varieties have pink or purple skin and largercloves. As a rule, the smaller the clove, the stronger the taste. Store garlic in a cool dry place away from the sunlight.
